San Clemente, California…Street sweeping parking enforcement was temporarily suspended in December 2020 because of the most recent COVID-19 Stay at Home order issued by the California Department of Public Health. This parking enforcement was temporarily suspended to help the San Clemente community to stay at home per the State order. The regional Stay at Home order was recently rescinded, and it is expected that as more businesses and activities re-open in Orange County and San Clemente, more residents will be able to return to work.
Beginning March 1, 2021, enforcement for street sweeping violations will resume. The City began issuing warnings on February 8th to help notify the community about the upcoming March 1st date for resumption of street sweeping ticketing.
Moving vehicles on designated street sweeping maintenance days/times helps ensure that street gutters can be properly cleaned to reduce pollution from entering the storm drains and being discharged to the ocean. Residents are encouraged to move parked vehicles on street sweeping days and times to allow the street sweeper to clean the street. Residents who have signed up for the free courtesy street sweeping reminders will continue to receive those reminders. To sign up for free courtesy street sweeping reminders, please visit the City’s website at www.san-clemente.org and enter “Street Sweeping Reminder” in the search box, or follow this direct link:
